Become a GCAAR Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Champion today!

GCAAR established the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Champions Program to give participants the opportunity to enhance your knowledge and understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion and achieve personal growth and support your business.

How it works

First, complete these three key training elements:

  1. The At Home with Diversity® (AHWD) certification course
  2. NAR's Bias Override: Overcoming Barriers to Fair Housing course or video 
  3. NAR's Fairhaven fair housing simulation

If you'd prefer to watch NAR's Bias Override: Overcoming Barriers to Fair Housing video instead of taking the course, that counts toward your GCAAR Champion requirements, too!

GCAAR offers the AHWD and Bias Override courses at no cost to our members. NAR's Fairhaven is free to all NAR members (GCAAR affiliate members can get a code to take the simulation for free by emailing dei@gcaar.com.)

IMPORTANT: Once you've completed the above steps, please take the steps below to let us know you've finished!

How do I tell GCAAR that I've completed the requirements to become a Champion?

As you complete each element of the program, log in to your GCAAR account. Once logged in:

  1. Select the menu in the upper-right portion of the screen.
  2. Under My Profile Account, go to Update Personal Information and select the "Preferences" tab on the left side of the page.
  3. Find the List Maker option toward the bottom.
    • Under the “Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Champion” area, select “add item” and the tasks you have completed. Then click “Submit.”

What happens next?

Once GCAAR has verified that you’ve completed all three elements of the program, our Member Services team will email you to provide the “I’m a GCAAR Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Champion” badge, with four different designs to choose from to use in your email signature or other marketing initiatives showing your commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. When you've completed the program, you can choose your favorite from among the badges to use for your personal marketing purposes.

AND don't forget to swing by GCAAR's Rockville or D.C. offices to pick up your special "I'm a GCAAR Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Champion" pin and t-shirt.

Note: Affiliate/non-REALTOR® members who complete the Fairhaven training must email the certificate of completion to MemberServices@gcaar.com for confirmation.
